What We Believe
Our club is driven by Christ through His Word. We hold to the following doctrinal statement:
The Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689
The following are some examples of the truths that we hold to:
1. The verbal, plenary inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible (2 Tim. 3:16)
2. Only one true God (Deut. 6:4)
3. The Trinity of the Godhead (Gen. 1:26)
4. The Holy Spirit - His gifts and ministry (non-sensationalist) (1 Cor. 12:1-11)
5. The reality and personality of Satan and Demons (Luke 4:1-13)
6. The Genesis account of creation (Gen. 1&2)
7. The fall and total depravity of man (Gen. 3)
8. The miracles, substitutionary atonement & bodily resurrection of Christ (1 Cor. 15:1-8)
9. Salvation through repentant faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ (Rev. 5:9)
10. The necessity of the new birth, by God's grace (John 3:3)
11. Justification by repentant faith alone, apart from works (Rom. 4:5)
12. The sanctification of the believer (Rom. 8:29). Saving faith is a working faith
13. The security and perseverance of the believer (1 Pet. 1:3-5)
14. The ordinances of the local church: baptism by immersion of believers (Matt. 28:19) & the Lord's Supper as a memorial (1 Cor. 11:23-26)
15. Biblical separation from sin and apostasy (personal & ecclesiastical) (1 Cor. 5:9-13)
16. The unity of the true church based on the fundamentals and a holy life (Eph. 4:3)
17. Obedience to church & civil government (Rom. 13:1-7)
18. The premillenial return & reign of Christ (Rev. 19:11-16; 20:4)
19. A literal, beautiful, joyous, eternal Heaven for the saved (John 14:2)
20. A literal, eternal, burning Hell for the lost (Luke 16:19-31)
